It’s not a secret that weight loss can be difficult. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and patience. There will be days when you don’t even want to get out of bed and days when you feel like you can take on the world. 

It’s all about managing those bad days to ensure you stay on track. It’s important to remember that this is in no way your fault; it’s simply human nature. 

So, what are some ways to get out of that funk?

Whether it’s your favorite music, video, movie, or quote, there are tons of things that can get you motivated and ready to grind through your weight loss routine. 

For us, we love weight loss motivational quotes. They’re quick, easy, and can get you in the zone for good health. Some show tough love and practicalism, and others can be interpreted in various ways that help you take the first small steps. 

However long it takes you to reach your goal, there are enough motivational quotes that you can read one every day throughout your journey, and still have thousands left over to steer you in the right direction. 

We’ve composed a list filled with our favorite weight loss inspiration quotes so you can take that great leap even on days when you feel like you can’t. 

Hang them on your wall, keep a picture on your phone, and do whatever you have to to find some inspiration for better health today.

Tough Love Quotes

Tough love isn’t always the best option, but sometimes it’s necessary to reach excellence. 

Being brutally honest without putting yourself down is an excellent way to prepare yourself for the challenges that losing weight presents. 

Are you debating if you should buy junk food or wondering if you should step out of your comfort zone and go for a run? Instill some tough love and get yourself motivated. A sum of small efforts can add up to something big.

Insulting or putting yourself down day in and day out will only end up hurting you. We love this tough love quote because, well, it’s simply just a fact. 

Recommendations state that we should engage in physical activity for at least 60 minutes a day. That’s only an hour or 4% out of your day. Translating this number into a percentage truly puts it in perspective and gives you better hope.

It doesn’t matter when the hour is as long as you’re getting it. If you are busy and don’t have time to wake up an hour earlier in the morning and lift a dumbbell, try some night-time activities and aerobics like push-ups or sit-ups before bed. You can even slip in 6 10-minute workouts throughout your day. Anything counts!

Your health should always be your priority, no matter how busy you are. Find the time for physical activity, your mind and body will thank you. 

“Goals should never be easy. They should force you to work, even if they are uncomfortable at the time.” - Michael Phelps 

This all-time quote is from an all-time great athlete. 

This isn’t bad advice to take from the most decorated Olympian in history, and this is undoubtedly one of our favorite quotes on the list. 

The more complicated your goals are, the harder you’ll work towards triumph. Nobody needs 28 Olympic medals to relate to that. 

Set the bar as high as possible. If you don’t reach it, you’ve still gone further than you originally planned. 

We like this tough love quote because it’s realistic. Phelps is correct — if your journey and goals are easy, you’re not pushing yourself. 

Pure Inspirational Quotes

Some days, you might be tired of tough love or just don’t need it. If that’s the case, quotes that inspire your heart and mind are a great route to take and can be the groundwork of all happiness. 

These quotes are typically gentler and will give you a sense of serenity. If you’re anxious about a new movement routine, these quotes will be a big help for you.

We’re sticking to the athlete theme here, and the greatest basketball player of all time provides us with some fantastic inspiration. 

Michael Jordan faced plenty of obstacles, like getting cut from his high school basketball team, growing up poor, and his father's eventual death during his playing career. 

But, it never stopped him. He found his way around every roadblock, and you can do it too. No matter what you’re going through or trying to achieve, there’s a way to get past it, and giving up is always the worst option.

One must eat to live, not live to eat” - Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (Molière)

Admittedly, this isn’t the most inspirational quote ever, but it’s a good rule to keep in your head. 

This is a quote from French playwright Jean-Baptiste Poquelin. While he wrote this line for a comedy, it can be a helpful quote to follow if you are trying to lose weight. 

Diet and physical activity are both equally important. One won’t work without the other. 

Jean-Baptiste was right: we eat to survive, and constantly overindulging, even in good food, is no way to live. 

So, while this quote might not make you think, it’s a simple and easy rule to remember the next time you are debating between a healthy or unhealthy meal. 

Quotes With Multiple Interpretations

These quotes don’t have a particular audience, purpose, or theme. They’re just awesome quotes that you can interpret in any way you see fit. 

They’re here to inspire you, keep you motivated, and do everything in between. 

If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” - Vincent Van Gogh 

We’ve all had that little voice in our head tell us we can and can’t do things. 

There’s something about health that gives this little voice a microphone. 

The only way to get rid of that voice is to prove it wrong. If there was a voice telling Van Gogh not to paint and he did it anyway, just imagine what you can do. 

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop” - Confucious 

If you interpret this quote by the great Chinese philosopher Confucious as some guidance for weight loss, it’s especially spot on. 

The beginning of a weight loss journey is the hardest part. Once you have your routine down, the most important thing is that you’re doing it. 

Go at your own pace and never feel like you have to rush your goals. This quote applies to many things, but it’s especially true for weight loss. 

You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.” - George Horace Lorimer

Our final quote on this list is our favorite. George Lorimer, a famous journalist prominent in the early 20th century, provides us with the perfect closure to our inspirational list. 

It all starts with you and your attitude towards your goals. If you wake up every morning unmotivated, you can’t expect the results you want. 

It’s a fitting ending: a quote about waking up with the right mindset to go to sleep satisfied so you can start the process all over again the following day.
